Terms of service
Effective date: 6 August 2026. Please read these terms carefully before using LAYR.
1. Scope and service
LAYR is a fragrance layering recommendation and community platform. The service includes algorithmic pairing suggestions, curated fragrance "cocktails", community ratings, and a personal skin-chemistry quiz. Access to the service is free unless otherwise stated.
2. User accounts
You can use LAYR as a guest. To rate combinations or save preferences, you must create an account via email or a social login provider (Google, Apple). You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You may delete your account at any time in your profile.
3. User-generated content
By rating a fragrance combination or cocktail, you grant LAYR a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, aggregate, and share your rating as part of the community experience. You retain ownership of your rating. You may not submit ratings that are misleading, abusive, infringing, or unlawful. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms or applicable law.
4. Recommendations and affiliate links
All fragrance recommendations are editorial or algorithmic opinions, not professional advice. "Buy now" links are affiliate links: if you buy through them, LAYR may earn a commission. This does not influence the ranking or selection of recommendations. See our Affiliate disclosure.
5. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or harm other users. You may terminate your use of the service at any time by deleting your account in your profile.
6. Liability
LAYR is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that any fragrance combination will be safe, pleasant, or suitable for your skin. Always test new combinations on a small skin area first. Our liability is limited to the extent permitted by German law.
7. Privacy
Our use of your data is described in the Privacy policy.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. The place of jurisdiction is the registered seat of the provider, unless mandatory consumer-law provisions apply.
